When the weather can’t quite make its mind up, the Shires Tempest Original 100g Turnout Rug – Navy is a reliable go-to for everyday turnout. This lightweight turnout rug is ideal for cool nights, mild days, or hardy horses who don’t need a heavy layer but still benefit from a bit of warmth and protection.
Designed with comfort and practicality in mind, this turnout rug features a fully lined interior and 100g polyfill, offering just enough insulation without causing overheating. The tough 600 denier ripstop outer stands up well to daily field wear, while the ShireTex® fabric technology ensures it’s both waterproof and breathable — rated to 3000mm waterproofing and 3000g/m² breathability to keep your horse dry and comfortable in changeable conditions.
Fit and security are well covered, with adjustable buckle chest straps, adjustable cross surcingles, a fillet strap, and a generous tail flap to help keep the rug sitting neatly, even when your horse is on the move. Taped seams and a durable water repellent (DWR) finish add extra reassurance in wet weather, and it’s PFC free for a more thoughtful choice.

We are pleased to offer FREE standard delivery when you spend over £75. For next day delivery, order before 6pm and select next working day delivery at the checkout.
If your order is under £75, a small delivery charge of £3.99, £5.99 or £9.95 will apply depending on the size and weight of the order.
Big and bulky items may be delivered in a couple of different ways:
On a pallet (kerbside only) - our courier will contact you to organise a day you'll be home for delivery.
With a 2-person delivery service - our friendly team will contact you to book in a delivery day of your choice.
Some items come straight from our suppliers and may take a little longer to arrive. If that’s the case, we’ll make sure it’s clearly shown on the product page.
Returns
We really hope you love what you ordered, but if you change your mind, you’ve got 28 days from the day you bought it to return it.
Please make sure the item is unused and in its original packaging with any tags and labels attached. Please pop a note inside with your name and order details on it so we can locate your order.
We don’t offer free returns as we try to keep our prices as low as possible for everyone, depending on the size of the return we will deduct the cost from your refund. The returns process is really easy, you can post it back yourself or we can help you arrange a collection.
Once your return reaches our warehouse we'll process the refund back to your original payment method.
