Product DescriptionA hydrometer is an essential piece of equipment to help you understand the Alcohol by Volume (ABV) of your brew. The hydrometer will measure the Specific Gravity (SG) of the liquid that you are about to ferment (before fermentation).
Once your Brew has fermented you will take another measurement and the SG should be lighter due to the fact that the sugar has now converted into alcohol.
To work out your ABV% you subtract your original SG reading from your final SG reading. Multiply the resulting number by 131.25, and the total will conclude your Alcohol (ABV reading).
For a more reliable reading we recommend using a trial jar to take a sample of your brew rather than putting the hydrometer in the fermenting bucket.

We are pleased to offer FREE standard delivery when you spend over £75. For next day delivery, order before 6pm and select next working day delivery at the checkout.
If your order is under £75, a small delivery charge of £3.99, £5.99 or £9.95 will apply depending on the size and weight of the order.
Big and bulky items may be delivered in a couple of different ways:
On a pallet (kerbside only) - our courier will contact you to organise a day you'll be home for delivery.
With a 2-person delivery service - our friendly team will contact you to book in a delivery day of your choice.
Some items come straight from our suppliers and may take a little longer to arrive. If that’s the case, we’ll make sure it’s clearly shown on the product page.
Returns
We really hope you love what you ordered, but if you change your mind, you’ve got 28 days from the day you bought it to return it.
Please make sure the item is unused and in its original packaging with any tags and labels attached. Please pop a note inside with your name and order details on it so we can locate your order.
We don’t offer free returns as we try to keep our prices as low as possible for everyone, depending on the size of the return we will deduct the cost from your refund. The returns process is really easy, you can post it back yourself or we can help you arrange a collection.
Once your return reaches our warehouse we'll process the refund back to your original payment method.
