When spring showers roll in or autumn mornings feel damp underfoot, the Shires Tempest Original 50 Combo Turnout Rug is a dependable choice for keeping your horse comfortable without overdoing the warmth. Designed with mild, wet weather in mind, this lightweight turnout offers just the right balance of protection and breathability for changeable seasons.
With a 50g polyfill, this combo turnout rug creates a gentle buffer between the outer and inner layers, helping to reduce condensation when the air turns humid. The 600 denier ripstop outer is tough enough for everyday turnout, while the waterproof 3000mm rating and taped seams keep rain firmly on the outside. Inside, the rug is fully lined for smooth comfort against the coat.
The integrated neck cover fastens securely with double-sided touch-close straps, offering extra coverage without slipping. Adjustable buckle chest straps and cross surcingles allow for a neat, comfortable fit, while the fillet strap and generous tail flap add stability and protection when your horse is on the move. Finished in a smart royal blue with practical detailing, it’s a reliable rug you’ll reach for time and again.
Made using ShireTex® fabric technology, this turnout rug is breathable (3000g/m²) and treated with a durable water repellent (DWR) finish, all PFC free. It’s also WarmaRug compatible, so you can easily boost warmth with a 100g or 200g liner as the weather cools. Available in pony sizes, it’s a versatile option for growing or smaller horses.

We are pleased to offer FREE standard delivery when you spend over £75. For next day delivery, order before 6pm and select next working day delivery at the checkout.
If your order is under £75, a small delivery charge of £3.99, £5.99 or £9.95 will apply depending on the size and weight of the order.
Big and bulky items may be delivered in a couple of different ways:
On a pallet (kerbside only) - our courier will contact you to organise a day you'll be home for delivery.
With a 2-person delivery service - our friendly team will contact you to book in a delivery day of your choice.
Some items come straight from our suppliers and may take a little longer to arrive. If that’s the case, we’ll make sure it’s clearly shown on the product page.
Returns
We really hope you love what you ordered, but if you change your mind, you’ve got 28 days from the day you bought it to return it.
Please make sure the item is unused and in its original packaging with any tags and labels attached. Please pop a note inside with your name and order details on it so we can locate your order.
We don’t offer free returns as we try to keep our prices as low as possible for everyone, depending on the size of the return we will deduct the cost from your refund. The returns process is really easy, you can post it back yourself or we can help you arrange a collection.
Once your return reaches our warehouse we'll process the refund back to your original payment method.
