Say Hello to Autumn - Your Guide to Autumn Home Styling

If you're anything like me, getting your home ready for Autumn (and Christmas, but we won't talk about that just yet!) is one of your favourite things to do. Nothing brings me more joy than coming home after a long day at work to a house that is warm, cosy and full of autumnal tones and scents. Throughout this blog post, we'll chat about my favourite ways to elevate your home decor as we are greeted by the darker evenings, chillier weather and lets face it, rain.

Pumpkins

I know that the word 'pumpkin' may automatically send your thoughts to Halloween, however, your autumn/harvest display wouldn't be complete without them. Whether you're creating an extravagant doorstep display or adding a stand alone piece to your window sill, staircase or mantlepiece, pumpkins will always bring warm hues into your home. Our orange and sage velvet pumpkins are a fantastic addition to your Autumn decor, because unlike real pumpkins, these faux pumpkins can be brought back out year after year. With the addition of a wood effect stalk, these velvet pumpkins add a range of texture to your decor - the perfect finishing touch to any home as you embrace the season.

Candles

Picture this, it's a dark evening and you're snuggled up under a blanket reading your new book or catching up on your new favourite TV show. You can hear the rain pitter-pattering against the window and you've got an array of candles dotted around the room emitting a warm and cosy glow against the darkness...what could be better?! I think that candles have got to be my favourite way of bringing warmth into a home throughout the colder months. Whether you're infusing your home with the scent of orange spice or apple and cinnamon with our tea lights or simply using flickering flameless LED candles if you're in university accommodation or have pets, you are sure to feel yourself instantly unwind and relax.

Soft Furnishings

The use of chunky blankets and plush cushions are another fantastic way of adding a seasonal touch to your home. Introducing soft furnishings in an array of warm earthy tones, such as deep red, burnt orange, mustard yellow and sage green will instantly make a room feel more inviting and create a cosy setting for you to relax in with friends and family. Even when not in use, soft furnishings such as blankets can also be used in a decorative manner, draped over the arm on your sofa or placed in a woven basket to make your space feel homely.

Floristry and Wreaths

I'm the sort of person who has a wreath of some sorts on their front door all year round, whether that be for Christmas, Easter or Summer, but there's something quite special about an Autumn wreath. As the days start to get greyer and greyer, you are greeted with warmth every time you walk up the path to your front door. Whether you would prefer something pre-made or fancy getting crafty, our range of wreath making and floristry supplies will infuse your home with the beauty of nature with a seasonal touch.
